If you like survival gameplay, I suggest Frostfall and Imp's More Complex Needs. I personally suggest SkyRe, Character Creation Overhaul, Live Another Life, and maybe Deadly Dragons, Convenient Horses and Training Dummies and Targets in general. Most of the rest of the stuff I've got is just minor tweaks/convenience fixes (like removing Dawnguard vampire attacks).

The Interesting NPCs Project is a rather fun one that just adds a whole bunch of, well, interesting NPCs to the game. Cloaks of Skyrim is fun and immersive - I love giving Lydia a Whiterun guard's cloak.Ī combination of Advanced Follower Tweaks and Better Stealth AI fixes most of the annoyances with followers (especially for a stealth-focused Dragonborn). Immersive Armors and Immersive Weapons help to expand the somewhat limited gear selection in vanilla. I haven't tried out SkyRe (Skyrim Redone) yet myself I personally use SPERG, with some related compatability patches. Obvious necessities: Unofficial patches (for the core game and any/all DLC you have), Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE), SkyUI.īeyond that, here's a few selections from my modlist: I'd also strongly recommend Categorized Favourites Menu, because the default one is very poor.

SkyUI is essentially mandatory, not just because it fixes up an interface that really was never meant for PCs, but because many current Skyrim mods are configured through it. If you'd like to toss in a food and drink mod to run a more survival-ish game, there are a few on offer, and most are configurable to your preferred rate (so, for that matter, is Frostfall). It may sound a bit intrusive, but it doesn't feel that way in regular play. Being out in the cold and rain for too long will eventually kill you via hypothermia, but you're given a number of tools to defray the effects.
Compatibility with other mods is mostly good, but you run into the occasional foible.įrostfall is a very nice mod that adds weather survival. It does change basically everything, mind, and can be a bit of a pain as a result. Skyrim Redone is a rather good overhaul and addresses a number of Skyrim's balancing and gameplay issues (notably the low difficulty, and the weak and boring magic).
